VISION BeanStore® for Self Checkout has been designed to enable retailers to install a self checkout POS without the need of modifications to existing software solutions, let alone move to an entirely new system. Using simple integration with existing applications, it becomes simple to integrate established POS functionality available to self-service terminals.
VISION BeanStore® uses a Retail Transaction Interface to facilitate the exchange of data between the self checkout application controlling the specific processes and VISION BeanStore. This means that the price and item files remain the same, so there are no data integrity issues; the software is the same, just configured differently. Therefore, the discounts, promotions and loyalty reward schemes are the same on all registers regardless of the devices being manned by sales operators or self service checkouts.
Card Payment & Security
With the advent of tighter security around payment applications in store, VISION BeanStore® uses a separate secure payment module for the handling of all card transactions and links to acquirers and banks. Card security is also a concern with self checkout solutions, but becuse VISION BeanStore® uses the same application for regular registers and self checkout devices, the same secure card payment module is also used.
