PCMS
Just over a year after signing contracts with the PCMS Group, community food retailer Budgens celebrates the rollout of Vision BeanStore - the market-leading electronic point of sale - to the 100th store, in Lyndhurst, Hampshire.

Retail IT and software specialist, PCMS, will continue to implement the java-based system to the rest of Budgens’ 180 stores across the UK.

Incorporating a Linux back office, the Chip & PIN-enabled system boasts full resilience at point of sale, with integrated customer display and weigh scales.

In addition, online transactions to a central point, together with integrated data distribution, give Budgens complete access to management information.

Mark Trevorrow, IT Director at Budgens, commented: “The rollout has so far been a great success. Indeed, the feedback from those stores that have already started working with the new system has been extremely positive.
Our aim is to provide a viable alternative to
the superstore, bringing fresh food of a high quality to our customers. The implementation of
BeanStore is already assisting us to deliver that service, by helping our store managers to perform a front of house function, focusing upon value-added services and bringing an additional dimension to the Budgens retail offer.”
